Willson Goggles
Willson has been making goggles for over 130 years, and they were at one time one of the major goggle manufacturers as well as leaders in workplace safety.
During the 19th century the United States received all of its optical lenses from Europe. Towards the latter part of the 19th century, Thomas A. Willson & Co. opened its first factory dedicated to making optical glass. One of the primary goals of the company, aside from manufacturing lenses, was to invent equipment to protect factory workers occupational dangers they may face. This had not been a priority with factory owners at the onset of the industrial revolution resulting in many people getting injured while working.

The first protective lens they made was one to block out the dangerous, blinding rays produced when welding metal.
